CHAPTER 13 -- THE DECODERS: Part Two, A NEW MELODY, A NEW GENESIS

DR. REMO ROTH OF ZURICH

Dr. Remo Roth is a depth psychologist in the beautiful city of Zurich in Switzerland whom S.P.A.C.E. contacted in March 2002 after Harold Egeln searched through and studied Dr. Roth's Psychovision website, which is in English (www.psychovision.ch/rfr/roth_e.htm) and German (www.psychovision.ch), on Dr. Gibbs Williams' Synchronicity Links List page.

Dr. Roth, who was a student of the late Marie-Louise von Franz for more than 20 years, describes his work and interest in UFO close encounter experiences here:

"My interest in UFOs began with my own dreams about them. I've never seen a UFO in outer space, but my inner world is full of them. The dream which I interpret in www.psychovision.ch/ufnw/uforadia.htm is one of my first on the subject."

"This is why I began to deal with the whole problem. And I think my mode seems to be complementary to all these 'super-technical dream' phantasies wherein we believe that we can continue as we have up until today, destroying nature, 'living matter' and Eros consciousness (s. below)."

"In my work with abductees I use the method of Body-Centered Imagination (see f.i. A Body-Centered Imagination for Arrhythmias of the Heart) that I developed 20 years ago, to deal with the symptom (in the case of patients with psychosomatic troubles), or the UFO-related experience with abductees, in an altered state of consciousness (Eros consciousness)."

"I avoid hypnosis because it is not natural enough and there is always the danger of projection of the physician's unconscious troubles or views onto the patient.

"My method is to keep the 'healer' out as much as possible. I am only the mediator and translator of the images, which come out of the belly of the patient (with the help of introverted Eros consciousness) during this process.

""The biggest problem for therapists involved in the field of healing is their lack of awareness of their own power complex and this is why I try to be very passive or unobtrusive when I work with people. In this manner, the process changes into a very natural one which comes out of the patient HIM-/HERSELF and is NOT ARTIFICALLY FORCED."

Below is Dr. Roth's first observations of S.P.A.CE's Breakthrough Material (see SPACEWOWSIGNAL), which is followed by a Conversation with Dr. Roth as interviewed by Harold Egeln in March 2002.

I HEAR A "NEW MELODY"

One idea you describe in your WebSite SPACEWOWSIGNAL is very important to me, because it is a "new melody" that I hear: UFO close encounters and abductions have much more to do with our inner world than with "extraterrestrials", meaning that the real phenomenon behind all these experiences is a PSYCHIC flexibility of time and space -- as Wolfgang Pauli and Carl Gustav Jung guessed more than 60 years ago. With this empirically testable hypothesis the extraterrestrial hypothesis is no longer necessary. Experience has shown me that we can replace it with the concept of the "always-everywhere" (Remo F. Roth), which is a world behind or beyond Carl G. Jung's collective unconscious (further explanations see below).

When we come close to this realm of the always-everywhere - which Jung calls in his sophisticated language the "eternal omnipresence" - we are at the same moment here and everywhere, in the now and in eternity. This is the contradiction of the "Mystic's state", and as far as I can see, today's challenge is that we must deal with this contradictory reality.

To understand what I mean we must first define our terms. In German "term" is "Begriff", which means that we must "be-GREIFEN" (= comprehend; "com-prendre" in French) something. "Greifen" has to do with touching, and this means that for comprehending we must touch something real with our hand!

1) SYNCHRONICITY REDEFINED

I gave you the definition of synchronicity as complementary to causality (or determinism) in my first email:

Synchronicity is the complementary experience (in the sense of quantum physics) to the causal one. It depends on the state of consciousness as to which one of these two experiences we have: In the state of Logos (or "left brain") one is convinced that the world functions causally, in the state of Eros (or "right brain" or "gut brain consciousness") it is synchronistic. In the latter state one lets "flow" body and mind "accidentally" (for example when you got off your bus several stops "too early"). This is what I describe with the term SYNCHRONICITY QUEST: an altered state of consciousness, in which we dwell CONSCIOUSLY in the so-called unconscious (which has, according to Carl Gustav Jung, a "preconscious" or "absolute knowledge") to find the world of meaningful coincidences.

The most important thing: When we experience synchronicities, we are consciously or unconsciously in an altered state of consciousness. This is what most people yet are not aware of. Therefore, most scientists do not accept synchronicity. As we will see, this has to do with a projection of flexibility of time and space, which is possible in the state of Eros consciousness, into matter.

2) CARL G. JUNG'S SCARAB SYNCHRONICITY AND EROS CONSCIOUSNESS

One can see this (unconscious) development into Eros consciousness in Jung's Scarab synchronicity (see www.psychovision.ch/synw/scarab_synchronicity_Jung.htm): In a normal (Logos) state a psychotherapist is centered on the client; he/she will not hear the noise of the beatle or he/she thinks that it is only a disturbance. But Jung was "spread out" in his surrounding. This is why he heard the noise of the tapping of the rose-chafer. And then he let his body move and caught it! This is what I mean by EROS CONSCIOUSNESS which is able to live the Synchronicity Quest. It is on the one hand concentrated on one's own inside (on the inside of the patient in Jung's case), and, on the other, on the outside, to perceive the synchronistic events (inner-outer double events).

The same type of behaviour we find in Jung's fox synchronicity (see www.psychovision.ch/synw/synchronicity_Jung.htm). Following a spontaneous impulse Jung abandoned his normal practice of sitting in a room with the patient by going for a walk in the woods with his patient. Only there was it possible for them to meet the fox, which "reflected" the one in her dream.

3) PSYCHIC RELATIVITY DEFINED

With this definition of synchronicity connected with Eros consciousness we accept too that PSYCHIC space and time can have a quality other than that in Newton's physics. Time can approach timelessness and space can contract to one point. This is what I call the "PSYCHIC relativity of time and space" [and not physical (measurable), as Einstein's!].

4) PSYCHIC NONLOCALITY DEFINED

If this is true, we must define "psychic nonlocality": Because of the PSYCHIC relativity of time and space consciousness can change into altered states, where it experiences time as psychically dilated (meaning the EXPERIENCE that subjective time can be dilated) and space as psychically contracted (meaning an EXPERIENCE of a contracted "inner space" in the physical body). This Eros consciousness is, in contrast to the Logos consciousness, able to approach the realm of "no time" (eternity) and "no space" or "point-space". Point-space is equivalent to the "everywhere" (I cannot prove this in this short message). This is why I call this realm of "no time" and "no space" the ALWAYS-EVERYWHERE. By dilating its time, Eros consciousness has the ability to observe "acts of creation in time" (Jung) that happen out of this world of the always-everywhere (= the "psychophysical reality" of Wolfgang Pauli; = the "unus mundus" of the medieval alchemist Dorneus, s. below). These acts of creation happen according to the laws of psychic or even psychophysical nonlocality.

5) CARL G. JUNG'S "POINT A STATE"

What I describe here, is the so-called "point-a-state" that Jung postulated as an unproved hypothesis in a letter dated Jan. 4th, 1929 (see Jung: Letters, vol. 1). In this letter, Jung says that when this situation is constellated, something that happens in one individual has happened everywhere. But he was not yet able to see that only Eros consciousness is able to observe this always-everywhere and the nonlocal acts of creation that occur out of it.

6) THE WORLD BEHIND OR BEYOND MATTER AND THE COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS OF CARL G. JUNG

The always-everywhere of mine is an empirically observable world BEHIND or BEYOND the collective unconscious of Carl G. Jung. The medieval alchemist Gerardus Dorneus called it the "unus mundus" (the unified world). Wolfgang Pauli's dreams told him that this realm behaves like the radioactive nucleus !!! In a scientific terminology, he called this world the "psychophysical reality" which is neither psychic (collective unconscious) nor physical (matter of physics) but something beyond the two and is "AN INVISIBLE, POTENTIAL FORM OF REALITY THAT IS ONLY INDIRECTLY INFERABLE THROUGH ITS EFFECTS" - like a black hole has on its surroundings.

7) THE PSYCHO-PHYSICAL ARCHETYPES OF THE ALWAYS-EVERYWHERE REPLACE THE "EXTRATERRESTRIALS"

With this empirically testable hypothesis the definition of concretely existing extraterrestrials somewhere in the material universe is not necessary anymore. These extraterrestrials are replaced by the EMPIRICALLY experiencable psychophysical archetypes of the always-everywhere, where physically measurable time and space no longer exist.

8) THE PSYCHO-PHYSICAL ARCHETYPES ENTER THE SPACE- AND TIME-LIMITED WORLD AS A RESULT OF AN ACT OF CREATION

These archetypes, which circle round the principle of sexual propagation and creation, can enter our world limited by space an time, but as Pauli said, "only indirectly inferable through its effects". In my interpretation this means, that these archetypes of new creation enter our space- and time-limited world spontaneously (acausally), and because of their inherent indeterminism they are NOT OBSERVABLE WITH THE HELP OF A PHYSICAL EXPERIMENT, THE PLANNED USING OF WILL-POWER IN TIME AND SPACE. The fact that they behave acausally means, too, that these events, observed by Eros consciousness, are real acts of creation.

9) PEOPLE WITH CLOSE ENCOUNTER AND ABDUCTION EXPERIENCE OBSERVE CREATION IN THE SENSE OF "CREATIO CONTINUA"

People with close encounter and abduction experience enter the world of Eros consciousness unconsciously, and in this state they are able to observe new creation, which is possible AT ANY TIME. This principle is called "creatio continua" and is contrary to the "creatio ex nihilo" of the Jewish/Christian Genesis (and the big bang phantasies of today). We have forgotten and repressed the creatio continua, because of the one-sided development of the causal (meaning will-centered) natural science since the 17th century. This is why it is coming back now in an unconscious and therefore mostly destructive manner.

10) SYNCHRONICITY AND RADIOACTIVITY

Synchronicities in the sense of Jung and Pauli happen when an individual is forced to have new creative insights. They stop when this insight is realized! In Pauli's dreams, the absolute knowledge of the collective unconscious told him that he should replace the term "synchronicity" with "radioactivity" and the term "Self" (the center of the collective unconscious) with "radioactive nucleus" (see also www.psychovision.ch/synw/paujubw_e.htm). So we must compare the synchronistic state (Jung) with the radioactive one of quantum physics.

11) THE BIG DIFFERENCE

Now the big difference comes: The radioactive decay leads to a transmutation of the physical (or chemical) element, as this means, to a TRANSMUTATION IN MATTER. But synchronicity as defined by Jung leads "only" to a change in the mind of a person (and only, if the very deep meaning is realized). Thus, Jung's concept of the Self is too spiritual since it seeks only a transformation of the mind, the unio mentalis or first stage of the individuation process, and does not account for the transformation that should also occur in matter or the body (unio corporalis). But what does this change in the body or matter look like? We will see that this means an acausal (spontaneous) act of transformation in the "psychophysical world" (or "psychoid reality") that Pauli and Jung looked for but did not find. This means a new creation has occurred affecting psyche and matter.

12) SOME SORT OF AN ENERGY EXCHANGE

This is why Egeln is right when he tells me that together with UFO phenomena there must also be some sort of energy transfer! On the other hand, Jung and, especially, his student and my teacher Marie-Louise von Franz, stressed continuously, that the connection between the two events of synchronicity is not an energetic one, but one of meaning.

13) THE PAULI EFFECT

But there is or was the Pauli Effect !!! (See for example Wolfgang Pauli's Fludd/flood Synchronicity). Jungians always explain these PSYCHOKINETIC events -- in which an exchange of energy is obvious! -- as synchronicities, too. When we follow Jung's definition, this is wrong, because according to him we do not have any exchange of energy in synchronicities.

14) EXTENDED CONCEPT OF SYNCHRONICITY

This is why we must EXTEND THE CONCEPT OF SYNCHRONICITY. There exist at least two different sorts of synchronicities: one without and one with the exchange of energy.

Jung (in a letter) talks of "VITALIZING synchronicities," which shows that he has already seen that sometimes there must be some exchange of energy (but he did not publish anything about this, except his guess quoted below).

15) BEHIND CLOSE ENCOUNTERS IS THE "VITALIZING SYNCHRONICITY"

My hypothesis: Behind the Pauli Effect, behind UFO close encounters, and behind abductions is exactly this vitalizing synchronicity, - an "act of creation in time" (Jung's guess in his synchronicity article), which means an acausal (spontaneous) act of transformation in the "psychophysical world" (or "psychoid reality") that Pauli and Jung looked for but did not find (see Meier, CA (ed), Atom and Archetype: The Pauli/Jung Letters, 1932-1958, N.Y., 2001). In these events the realm and the results of this act of creation INDEPENDENT OF OUR CONSCIOUS WILL, this "invisible, potential form of reality that is only indirectly inferable through its effects" (Pauli), becomes visible. In my terminology this means that acts of creation following the principles of creatio continua and nonlocality take place out of the always-everywhere.

16) TRIANGLE AS SYMBOL OF ENERGY

And now we are close to S.P.A.C.E.'s (Breakthrough) experiences: The equilateral triangle (pointed upward) is a symbol of energy in the sense of "mana" (divine energy; for example as the symbol of the Holy Spirit).

Because in S.P.A.C.E.'s UFO close encounter it is pointed downward, it means YIN energy, which is not considered in physics. In microphysics Paul Dirac "transformed" the negative [= yin] energy into antimatter, but in psychology we must - when we consider the psychophysical world - also deal with "negative energy."

The second triangle in your UFO encounter, half the size, means that the absolute knowledge of the collective unconscious will tell you that it is half of a new, complete view of energy (yang AND yin). The symbol for this is the SEAL OF SOLOMON (see www.psychovision.ch/hknw/sumsynqu.htm). It is the symbol of the "opus" (work) in alchemy, the reunion of "fire" (yang energy) and "water" (yin energy) [see Jung, CW 12, fig. 160 after § 423]. And yin energy is parapsychological, especially psychokinetic!

17) ENERGY TRANSFORMATION

Psychokinetic events show that there must also be an exchange of energy and/or transformation, because MATERIAL things are moved or explode, meaning that the atoms have got an incredible amount of new physical (!) energy out of "nothing", which means: by transformation of yin energy into physical.

18) THE RABBIT = POTENTIAL NEW CREATION

The rabbit is a symbol of incredibly intense procreation (as one can see in Australia). So, the rabbits who constantly pursue you (in S.P.A.C.E.), and which also led to your "breakthrough", mean that you do not yet realize deeply enough this extended form of synchronicity constellated in you, which is also behind the Pauli Effect.

19) THE RABBIT = INDETERMINISTIC CREATION

When the rabbit is afraid it runs away for the purpose of saving its life. It's very typical that it begins to run in an indeterministic zigzag-course (German: Haken schlagen). This is a movement, which reminds us of the spontaneous, not foreseeable process of (natural) radioactive decay. In it determinism is suddenly interrupted by indeterminism, which means that a new creation occurred. This result is acausal, which means that no one can foresee when and where it happens - like the UFO phenomena!

These amplifications show us that the deepest context of your experiences is the fact that TODAY IN NATURE NEW, INDETERMINISITC (ACAUSAL) CREATION IS CONSTELLATED, which comes SPONTANEOUSLY out of the always-everywhere (unus mundus), the psychophysical world beyond matter and psyche.

20) THE NEW GENESIS AND THE HI-VIRUS

This means nothing less than a New Genesis -- the creation of NEW LIVING MATTER (in a yet unknown form) --, which is unconsciously constellated in the universe, the above mentioned creatio continua! A destructive example of this creation is the HI-Virus (HIV), the existence of which, in its original form, has never been proved, which means that it comes out of this "invisible, potential form of reality that is only indirectly inferable through its effects" (Pauli) [For the lack of proof of the HIV see the comments of the Nobel Laureate Kary Mullis, http://www.virusmyth.net/aids/index/kmullis.htm].

This new creation is destructive because we do not approach this psychophysical world by means of the Eros consciousness but think that we can destroy it (the HIV) with aggressive Logos (which means with natural science, limited to left brain empery). 21) PEOPLE WITH ENCOUNTER AND ABDUCTION EXPERIENCE ARE FORCED TO OBSERVE THE NEW CREATION OUT OF THE ALWAYS-EVERYWHERE

Few (but perhaps more and more) people are FORCED TO OBSERVE THIS POTENTIAL NEW CREATION OUT OF THE ALWAYS-EVERYWHERE. And surely you (in S.P.A.C.E.) know, that in quantum physics only by observation does the potential world become real (Heisenberg). This is why the "spirit of the always-everywhere" forces some people into this new observational state of consciousness (which I also call Eros consciousness, as related earlier here).

This is what I can tell you about your experiences, although a bit short and condensed.

A CONVERSATION WITH DR. REMO ROTH

INTERVIEWED BY HAROLD EGELN

[This "conversation-interview" is taken from questions asked by Harold Egeln in March and the answers in Dr. Remo Roth's reply in an e-mail on March 21, 2002.]

Harold EGELN: Overall within the "encounter experience" -- and specifically within our accounts of "High Strangeness" -- with their synchronicities, demonstrations of the non-local nature of reality, the meeting of the deeper psyche with physicality, the energy exchanges, the Pauli Effect (something we refer to and experience quite a lot), how the observer effects what is observed (re: physicist John Wheeler, etc.) and your wonderful insight about the creation of a "new living matter" re: the Rabbit Symbolism, there is a dynamic at play here which reveals the truer nature of "UFO close encounters." You say it is naturalistic, not "alien," which makes sense.

Dr. Remo ROTH: I think that your "meeting of the deeper psyche with physicality" is more than that: It is the yet not understood world of the "unified psychophysical reality" or the "unified psychoid reality" Wolfgang Pauli and Carl Jung looked for but did not succeed in finding. I call it the always-everywhere, because in this realm time is eternal and space reduced to a point, which also means that every point is everywhere.

I have good reasons for the hypothesis that UFO encounter and abduction, OBEs and NDEs lead into this world. Stricken people are UNCONSCIOUSLY thrown into the Eros consciousness, and experience the world of the always-everywhere and its laws of psychic nonlocality that I described earlier.

Like this we have a quaternity as follows: Logos consciousness observes local reality [or the reality of Einstein's local (causal) world, the "light cone" of the time-space graph] and Eros consciousness experiences psychophysical reality with its psychoid (or psychophysical) nonlocal phenomena.

This is the quaternity Pauli and Jung sought but didn't find, because both could not see that Eros consciousness exists. It will be the challenge of the near future to accept this quaternity, which also means to accept UFO, OBEs and NDEs as NATURAL experience, and not alien.

EGELN: Yes, there is more here than the "extraterrestrial hypothesis," which, alone, cannot account for all these experiences. This encounter INTERFACE is more about POTENTIAL, in the terms, which you use, with all its implications.

DR. ROTH: If space and time are psychically flexible and Eros consciousness approaches the always-everywhere (eternal omnipresence of Jung), it approaches the world of the unus mundus of the Medieval alchemist Gerardus Dorneus.

Out of this world a new creation is possible AT ANY TIME (creatio continua). This is why I wrote to you that your experiences have to do with a NEW GENESIS. And it is only possible when a human consciousness observes it. This is why the "spirit of the collective unconscious" forces you (and others) into these incredible experiences.

ALTERED STATES: INNER & OUTER WORLDS MELT

EGELN: And the fact that these experiences occur in "altered states" and "an Eros Consciousness" (the merging of the Inner and the Outer) is well understood by me, at least, within the context of the SPACE Group's experiences. That is why I state on our website's homepage that what is happening here has as much (if not more) to do with our Inner Spaces than Outer Spaces.

DR. ROTH: What seems important to me is the fact that we must quit the "head brain" and enter the "gut brain" (as discovered by Michael Gershon 20 years ago -- The Second Brain, Harper Collins, N.Y., 1998).

And this "gut brain" is together with my Eros consciousness (please see: www.psychovision.ch/hknw/kseele.htm) which means that by this procedure inner and outer worlds come together and melt into one another.

This is the so-called unified psychophysical reality (unus mundus), and out of it incredibly intense new creation is born (RABBITS!). It will change into a constructive process, if the human consciousness (of the Eros state) is willing and able to observe it. Like this the old Kabbalah hypothesis becomes true: "IN THIS WAY EVERY HUMAN BEING ASSISTS THE GODHEAD WITH THE REVERSAL OF THE DESTRUCTION OF THE WORLD'S CREATION." [See the quotation of my "Gottsucher" ("The Quest for God"; in German) at the end of this Conversation].

This process out of the "Beyond" is constellated today. When we go on staying in the Logos consciousness, it will turn into a very destructive process (as the appearance of the HIV, see above). Our great challenge and chance is to switch into Eros consciousness to OBSERVE this natural process (AND NOT TRYING TO MAKE IT BY WILL). By doing this we change it into a constructive process.

LIVING IN BOTH WORLDS

EGELN: I am so accustomed to living naturally within different states of consciousness and perceptions of "time" (while remaining quite connected to "agreed" perceived reality), and have an awareness of the Implicate Order underneath it all, that this is all NATURAL to me rather than ALIEN, as it would be to someone who has fixed ideas about "Close Encounters."

DR. ROTH: This is the most important sentence for me! It shows me that you are able to distinguish between the two worlds and live in both.

Like this, you do not identify with the one or the other, and that is the correct mentality. It is a natural experience, but we have forgotten and repressed it since the 17th Century, since the beginning of natural science and the identification of observation with extraverted empery (left brain).

EGELN: Also, I've noticed that when "life forms" (classified as "ETs" by most researchers) do appear in physical reality, they behave (in our experience) more like they come from a dream place, and their "dream place" (from their own "inner spaces"?) interfaces with our physical reality. Like in a dream, they can blink out and appear in another place, or appear in different forms, or in two different ways at two apparently different places.

DR. ROTH: I think that these "dreams" are more than "normal" dreams. As in the abduction state, where people always stress that it is not only a dream but much more real, much more "PHYSICAL".

That is why these dreams come out of the psychophysical reality where psyche and physical are one. This is the difference and one can feel this and also has an inner sensation of it, which means that one can almost "touch" -- "be-GREIFEN" in German, which means recognize! -- this inner reality. This is, for me, the big difference to normal dreams, coming out of purely psychic reality.

THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE HEART

EGELN: Perhaps DREAMS, where apparent interaction/interfacing also takes place or, at least, information is processed and conveyed, are more reflective of the True Nature of Close Encounters than physical effects. I've enjoyed reading your UFO dream accounts on your website (as best as I can in German, which is far from perfect for me).

I am happy that you note the importance of dreams as relating to close encounters.

DR. ROTH: I have seen that people who dream of UFOs or have both experiences, inner and outer, dreams and encounters (or abductions), see much more that it is a process that has also to do with their inner world.

People who have "only" close encounters interpret these experiences mostly too technically, too concretely, which means that they begin to phantasize a new world of "super technology", and Eros consciousness is absent again.

And perhaps you know that Budd Hopkins has seen, that in the experiences of people with UFO abduction, the "extraterrestrials" deal with almost all parts of the human body, BUT NEVER WITH THE HEART (re: UFO Abductions - A Reality in: International UFO Reporter, Vol. 16, Number 4, 1991, pages 9-14).

In the Mysticism of all five world religions it is always the HUMAN heart, where man meets God! (example: anahata, the heart Chakra in Tantrism, where man meets Purusha, the God-man). But we all still have the wrong attitude, when confronted with these phenomena. We react with the Logos and left brain. To the contrary, WE SHOULD PRESENT THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE HUMAN HEART, which is Eros consciousness, as described above! There the real relationship between man and "extraterrestrials" -- meaning the archetypes of the always-everywhere -- takes place.

This is why I am so glad that Spielberg's "E.T." movie comes back now, because there the ET has a heart and suffers with it. And the boy's relation with it is an EMOTIONAL and not a technical one, in contrary to the "clinically proper" agents with their "super technology"...! This was Steven Spielberg's really great intuition. And this revolutionary change of our perspective is the challenge of the near future.

"DIE GOTTSUCHER" ("The Quest for God") by DR. REMO ROTH

"An impressive example of the archetype of the transformation of the image of God -- which means also a New Genesis -- we find in the Kabbalah of Isaac Luria (1534-1572): When God created the ten-fold tree of the Sefiroth -- a gnostic image of the Anthropos (God-man) -- only the first three Sefiroth were strong enough to absorb the Divine Light.

The Mandala Herr Roth hat Frau Weiss geheiratet ("Mr. Red has married Mrs. White") was painted while I was in a very deep life crisis in 1974. It is composed of 9 x 11 (!) red and 9 x 11 white elements plus the empty center. For me it is a symbol of the unus mundus (Carl Jung) or of the unified psychophysical reality (Wolfgang Pauli) out of which a new creation is born. I was very shocked when I realized that it contains the symbolism of 9/11...! In my interpretation it symbolizes a positive compensation to that event.
